B!JuKu's Big Debut in the West Coast

The day has finally arrived for B!JuKu to jump off its training wheels and start putting itself out there for the world to see. It took us almost 1 year to build B!Juku from a concept to alpha to beta and soon to launch Live. The team (which consists of 5 people and very recently added an intern for the Summer) built this platform bootstrapped & seed-strapped; taking capital in the form of debt in some cases. No VC firm wanted to fund us. And most angels didn't seem to grasp the uniqueness of the site - a platform built for creators who are seeking an alternative to Webtoons, Patreon, Tapas, and Pocket Comics (the latter in the process of being shut down in Europe). From the beginning, I built up the company's ethos to only bring on like-minded independent entertainment companies that were scrappy but focused. These collaborations have brought us here to Los Angeles, CA to celebrate our efforts and to continue growing and supporting the creators who look to us for guidance.

What do we have planned at AX?

With our partner Animenomics, we will produce podcast content during Anime Expo. It's our first attempt and we are both incredibly excited & anxious for how things will turn out! 🙂🎙️

We recently launched a Go Fund Me campaign to bridge a budget gap for this project and I'm thrilled to say that we are almost near our target raise! Just $610 to go!

On Thursday, July 4th 🎇🎆 we will join our partner Manga Mavericks at their panel. Details below:
