Hello everyone! A7 here to mention that Summer session is merely weeks away (half the year already?!!) and we have an open call for all creators of how-to content in illustrations, manga, creative writing, and webcomics who want to be featured in our Summer session cohort.
We want to help new & established creators on their creative journey and also encourage collaborations among community members. A creator can share their work here at any stage of development (or choose certain community members to participate in the creative process). But first, the fundamentals in content creation must be taught by mentors who would like to pass down or pay forward their knowledge to others. That’s what makes B!JuKu special.
So if you are interested in helping others out (and earn some karma points 🚀 along the way), here are the steps to get started:
➠ Step 1: Create your 🆓 account
Like all good things, you need to set up an account before you upload or participate in any part of the site. And the best part, it's 🆓 😎
After you confirm your account (to make sure you are not a 🤖 or a 👻, move on to Step 2.
➠ Step 2: Share ↔️ your work
The first step on your mentorship journey starts with sharing your how-to work. Go to My Account at the top of the page and in the dropdown, choose "Artist submission". It will take you to the Upload Your Manga screen (we're still in beta) where you will fill in details.
Make sure your content follows these simple guidelines:
✓ No 🔞 adult content*
✓ Work was not 100% created by generative AI
✓ Can be previously published on other platforms
*If your content is for users 18 yrs+, we can publish an edited version and link out to the 18 yrs+ version. Some how-to videos include nude renditions of figures to which we kindly ask to blur those sections.
There are two ways to share your content:
URL channel link - If you have a YouTube or Vimeo channel with existing content, we can take your channel's URL and place your content under Class section. Place the URL link in the Synopsis or Description box.
Uploading your content - If you need assistance to create or upload your how-to content, let us know by providing details in the Synopsis or Description box.
After uploading, there is a 72 hour review by staff to make sure the content adheres to our guidelines. Once everything checks out, your how-to work will be available on B!JuKu - we'll send you a notification when your content is published.
➠ Step 3: Yay! 🎉 Your how-to content is Live!
Do you hear that? It's the sound of your karma bar 💹 gaining 10 pts. Your mentorship journey begins 😎
➠ Step 4: Build your community/fanbase 🔊
Visit the Class section on the site and find which genre or interest your work closely aligns to and start a thread, get a conversation started. If you don't see a genre or interest that matches or closely relates to your work, shoot us a note and we'll help get you set up! Class is where everyone looks for guidance and share feedback, support one another, collaborate, and more! Use Clubs to continuously build your community of mentees.
Be part of the mentorship movement. Don't let language barriers hold you back. Share your knowledge today!
