The Glorious Return of Masterpiece Anime Films to Theaters

Films released 25 - 30 years ago such as Tekkonkinkreet, Angel's Egg, and Jin-roh: The Wolf Brigade are finding a second-life, so to speak, among Japanese moviegoers. Gen X fans through Gen Alpha are finding common ground in watching traditional animated features that were created using the hand-drawn techniques coupled with rendering software to produce amazing classics. To a generation that was used to seeing these released on DVD & Blu-ray back in the 1990s - 2000s, it was standard fare. To a generation that is used to a digitized & AI-driven experience, it's an awakening.

We are starting to see this happen in US movie theaters as well. It's a trend that will continue as movie theaters try to re-imagine their moviegoing experiences.
